Heaps Good Wine Company, Skin Contact 2021

Heaps Good Wine Co. is a small family-owned and operated winery producing exceptional wines from Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, and Blaufrankisch from the green hills around Slovenska Bistrica in the region of Stajerska in the east of Slovenia.

Vinification: Each variety is hand-picked and processed separately. They are destemmed into small open-top fermenters. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeast. Pressed off skins after the completion of alcoholic fermentation. Aging in older neutral French oak barrels for 10 months.

Terrain: Sandy with clay and marl. Southwest exposure, 300 meters above sea level.

Farming: No irrigation. No herbicide. No cultivation. Environmentally friendly and sustainable viticulture, with respect for the land.
