Lorenza Rosé is an homage to the lovely rose wines of the south of France. We source our fruit from wonderful old vines grown in sandy soil in Northern California — mourvedre, carignane, cinsult and grenache for a many layered flavor profile. Hand picked at the moment when the fruit is bright and fresh, the grapes are gently pressed and removed quickly from the skins to just reach the pale salmon color, low alcohol and vibrant acidity. Fermented dry, Lorenza Rosé is a great aperitif, a charming companion to almost anything one would eat with a fork, one's fingers or a spoon, and one of the best things to sip on at the end of the evening or really anytime.
Certified Sustainable (cert. sustainable is the minimum and some vineyards are farmed organically). 40% Mourvedre, 28% Carignan, 16% Grenache, 16% Cinsault. All vineyards are sourced from Lodi. Sandy soils. The sand is an anaerobic environment that protects the vine from disease and allows it to thrive. Very old vines are the key here and all the average age of the fruit sources in Lorenza is well over 50 years old with the oldest source, Bechthold Vineyard, planted in 1886. Early picked, direct-pressed into stainless steel for fermentation.
