Jimena Lopez is the winemaker behind this project. She brings 18+ years of winemaking experience to the table in not only Argentina but 7 other countries. She is Argentine and Mendoza is her home. The intention with Bodini is to showcase Mendoza's Malbec in its purest form without oak related flavors but with plenty of beautiful fruit!
Bodini is an approachable Malbec that showcases the unique region of Mendoza. A high-elevation desert, Mendoza has long sunny days, cold nights, low humidity, and natural irrigation from glacial snowmelt from the Andes Mountains. Winemaker Jimena Lopez has made wine for 18 years in 7 countries. She also owns her own boutique winery, Graffito that boasts consistently high accolades. Jimena is a passionate, dedicated winemaker with tenacious drive and an unmatched attention to detail.
Vineyard: The malbec vines come from a single estate's vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo. The average age of the vines is 20 years old.
Orientation: The average elevation of the vineyards is 3,000 feet above sea level.
Soil: Clay and Loam
Viticulture: Ungrafted vines. Hand harvested.
Vinification: Standard primary fermentation in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation in tank.
Aging: No oak aging
Production: 12,000 cases
TASTING NOTES: Fruit and spice on the palate balanced by notes of fresh fruits like plums and blackberries. It is ripe in the mouth with soft, round tannins and a long finish. An approachable and expressive estate Malbec at and unbeatable price.
