Gancedo Bodegas y Viñedos, Bierzo Mencía Vino De Altura 2018

A family estate with holdings in Bierzo, Bodegas Gancedo specializes in farming elegantly concentrated Mencia from high altitude vineyards.  They have never sprayed chemical herbicides or pesticides on their vineyards and are working to become organic certified.  

This Mencia is from the highest altitude vineyard at Bodegas Gancedo over 500 meters high.  This is a newer planting on sandy soils on a site that favors freshness and elegance.  The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged in old barrels for 6 months.  Bottled with minimal sulfur and no other additions.
