Located on the North side of Châteauneuf, the Domaine La Fagotière is owned by the Chastan Family since 1889, and carries on a deep respect for the tradition of winemaking. Today, sister-and-brother owners Pascal Chastan and Valérie Leoty represent the 5th-generation.
The 32 hectare estate grows 17ha of AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape and 15ha of the Côte du Rhône appellation using sustainable vine-growing methods. The 17 hectares of vines dedicated to the Châteauneuf- du-Pape appellation are around 50 years old. The very old soil is made of sandstones (from 1 to 1.5 meters deep) resting on a thick layer of clay full of “rolled pebbles”. They store the heat from the sun during the day and restore it at night, allowing the grapes to reach optimal maturity.
GRAPE VARIETIES 55% Syrah, 40% Grenache Noir, and 5% Mourvèdre
