Established in 1989 by Thierry Villard as Chile’s first family premium boutique wine company. Over the last two decades, it has consistently been recognized as one of the best producers of the Casablanca Valley. Using the Valley’s exceptional terroir and unique characteristics, the new generation (Charlie Villard) has introduced innovating winemaking techniques to create new premium wines of structure and elegance.
Casablanca Valley: Located between the Coastal mountain range and the Pacific Ocean, it enjoys a unique micro-climate with cool sea breezes, which extends the ripening period of the grapes, giving them the perfect balance of sugars and acids. The Casablanca Valley is recognized as Chile’s premium cool climate viticultural region.
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Harvest: By hand
Vinification: The grapes were pressed as whole clusters and the juice was chilled for 24 hours prior to being racked. It was then fer- mented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature (between 12oC and 16oC) for 15 days. The resulting wine was left for two days on lees prior to being racked. The lots were then blended and left on fine lees for 4 months, being periodically pushed into suspension to give more volume to the wine. It was then decanted, cold stabilised and filtered before bottling.
TASTING NOTES: Very complex and covers a wide range of aromas: citrus, floral (especially citrus blossom), fruits such as apricot and white peach and tropical fruit such as fresh passion fruit. Tropical fruit and citrus on palate. Excellent structure, refreshing acidity, with a long, crisp finish.
