Alon Tzadok established his winery in 1999 on Moshav Kadesh Barnea in the Negev desert of southern Israel. Now a second generation family business, each member’s role is based on their area of expertise. Alon is CEO, his wife, Nira, manages operations, and their son Gilad is head of Sales and Marketing. His other son, Yogev, and his wife, Eden, are now the wine makers, having both studied winemaking in Florence, Italy. Formerly known as Kadesh Barnea, they rebranded the winery to be called Ramat Negev in order to represent the entire Negev area. Each wine allows wine lovers a rare taste of this unique and special grapegrowing region. In addition, Ramat Negev Winery is the very first winery to be established here and, with innovative perception combined with an ancient tradition, one of the first to plant vineyards and express this terroir. The winery’s goal is to make quality wine for affordable prices. With the more complex and intelligent wines they are now producing, they will continue to be considered the best winery in the Negev. The winery’s annual production is 80,000 bottles with varietals including: Petit Verdot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Mourvedre, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
