Casalibre is the project of Santiago-based winemaker Fred Skwara. Following winemaking projects across the globe, Fred settled back in his home country of Chile to start a unique and exciting project. His focus is on sourcing pristine grapes from the surrounding valleys and making his wines with as little intervention as possible. To this end, he only works with organic growers. Furthermore, in the cellar, he only uses sulfur on some of his wines and always at the lowest possible level. With the revolution in Chilean winemaking currently occurring, we're thrilled to introduce Fred's wines to the market!

We value the small growers.

We believe that nobody is better than someone who has cultivated their land for decades to understand the vineyard and know what should be done at every time of the year.

In a country as vast as Chile, with its immense diversity of climates and landscapes, why look at only one vineyard, one valley?

We want to explore the country, working with carefully selected growers, and make single vineyard wines that represent that diversity.

We rely on the value of terroir, authenticity, and diversity.

We do not seek to make the “best wine” – we don’t even believe that there is the perfect wine – we make wines that express their origin, without makeup.

We’re curious, but we respect the past. In a world where time is money, where efficiency is sought and costs reduced, we want to make wines where origin, fruit and soil are the protagonist, patiently and without haste.

We think the less intervention, the better. Less extraction, less wood, everything to achieve authentic products, with soul.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Certified organically grown Cabernet Sauvignon from isolated 'Los Guindos' ('The sour cherries') vineyard. Fermentation with native yeast in stainless steel. Aging in stainless steel without oak influence. Unfined, lightly filtered. Bottled with 16ppm free sulfur. 7,000 bottles produced.
